One morning a bear named Lucy finds an adorable boy in the forest. She names him Squeaker and brings him home to be her pet. Her mother warns her that children make terrible pets, but Lucy is determined that he will be the best pet ever.

Lucy and Squeaker have a fantastic day together. But soon things start to go wrong. He can't be potty trained. He ruins the furniture. Then he runs away! When Lucy finds him with his human family, she realizes that some critters just aren't meant to be pets.
